The new era of teaching

Teaching is considered to be one of the noblest professions by everyone in the world.  From the time of the Upanishads a guru is considered equal to god. Now as times have changed the style of teaching has evolved but the essence remains the same. The teachers are still considered to be the most important people in the life of a student and have a very important role to play in the development of their lives. Today’s teachers use various teaching aids like plays, presentations, free movies or videos available on the internet etc to put across their point of views to the students in terms that are understood by them easily. Like the earlier times there is no more sitting under the banyan tree for the light of knowledge to dawn upon you but now it is sitting in plush classrooms in front of laptops. The students are allowed to watch movies online or educational videos and interpret them as per their ideas.

These free movies and videos are available on the internet. And the students are expected to watch movies online or by getting the CD’s from the video library. And they discuss about what they learnt from the movies. The movies are generally educational and at times animated but always with a social message. It is no more a one sided flow of information in the class. The teachers encourage the students express their views before everyone.  This boosts the self confidence of the students. Teaching has undergone a sea change from the initial years. The standard pedagogy method has been replace by a more flexible and convenient methods. Nowadays it is important for the children to enjoy what they learn so that they retain it better. Education has become a prime need for students as well as their parents.
